Middle School Summer Law Program

Each summer, the 100 Black Men of South Florida partners with the Miami Carol City Sr. High School Law Magnet Program to hold its Middle School Summer Law Program.  The program is open to all middle school students (including rising 6th graders) and is held at Miami Carol City Sr. High School. The program provides middle school students with the opportunity to learn about various careers in the field of law.  During the course of the program, the students work with a case study, which culminates in them conducting a mock jury trial.  Throughout the program, students hear from legal professionals regarding their career paths in various legal fields.  Further, the students participate in a field trip to a courthouse, where they have the opportunity to observe, and thereafter ask questions, regarding live court proceedings.  Since its inception, approximately 200 middle school students have completed the program.
